GREAT COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY - Volunteers are needed for the annual “end-of-the-year” SUNY dorm cleanup. Volunteers for dorm cleanup should meet in the main parking lot of Route 32 in front of the Student Union Building (SUB) at 9am on May 18th . Volunteers are also needed at 9am set up tables and sort materials at the United Methodist Church on the corner of Main and Grove Streets (by bus terminal).
The Giveaway will be May 19th from 8:30 to 7pm at the United Methodist Church. Call for more information or to sign up as a volunteer: (845) 255-8456
The New Paltz Fireworks Committee needs volunteers and committee members to fundraise for the Fourth of July Celebration. Fund raising needs to begin now to ensure we have funds to host this event. Interested parties contact Stephen Warren, Chair at: stephenwarren24 @yahoo.com (note: there are no spaces in the address)
Parades/Festivals
Is your organization planning a parade or festival to take place on Town or Village streets or in one of our parks? If so, you must fill out the event application (also available at Town and Village Hall) and submit it well in advance of your event. The New Paltz Police Department must do a safety review of your planned activity, which may also require Town and/or Village approval.
Road closings/Emergency Shelters
Updated information on road closings, shelter information and other preparations arranged for residents can be found by calling the New Paltz Police Department information line at 845.255.7123. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roads and do not move road barriers. If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. A fire truck and ambulance will be stationed west of the Wallkill River during flooding.
Assessment Roll
Pursuant to Real Property Tax Law § 1590, assessment rolls can be viewed at the Ulster County website.
Effective August 1, 2011:
All Town-owned or managed properties including, but not limited to, parks, playgrounds, recreational facilities and associated parking lots will be tobacco-free zones.
