The New Paltz Child Care Center provides 40 children with the important learning opportunities and structure of center-based care, with the flexibility and nurturing atmosphere of family-based care. It is the only childcare center in the community serving families with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. As a not-for-profit facility licensed by New York State and approved by the Department of Social Services, the Center welcomes children from diverse socio-economic and racial and ethnic backgrounds.

The Center was established in 1994 through the initiative and dedication of several New Paltz Town Board Members. This relationship continues through the Town’s commitment to providing guidance around management, annual funds for maintenance are repair of the facility, and on-going representation on the Center’s Board of Directors.
